TOUR DU MONT BLANC
FRANCE, ITALY, SWITZERLAND
The Tour du Mont Blanc (TMB) has been circling the same massif for centuries, and it hasn't gotten easier or less extraordinary in all that time. This version of the classic route crosses France, Italy, and Switzerland on foot over nine nights, pairing expert guiding and luggage transfers with lodges that reflect the distinct character of each country. Snow-dusted peaks, wildflower meadows, and villages that have been feeding tired walkers for generations. By day, high alpine passes with views that make the effort feel modest. By evening, a fire, a glass of something regional, and legs that have earned their rest.
Note that everything you see here is an example of what your trip could look like. Your adventure will be tailored specifically to you.

WHY THIS ADVENTURE
The TMB attracts a particular kind of traveler: someone who wants to earn the view rather than drive to it, who understands that the quality of a day is measured in elevation gain and descent as much as comfort, and who also has no interest in sleeping in a dormitory bunk after doing both. This itinerary is built for that person. Expert guides who know the route's quieter variants, luggage transferred between lodges so your pack carries only what the day requires, and evenings in properties chosen for their sense of place rather than their star ratings. The trail crosses borders on foot, and the architecture, language, and cuisine shift with each crossing in ways that a vehicle journey simply doesn't produce. By the time the massif comes full circle, the mountain has done its work.
JOURNEY FLOW
The trail begins in the shadow of Mont Blanc itself, climbing through pine forest and alpine pasture into the first of eleven high mountain passes. France gives way to Italy at the Col de la Seigne, and the landscape shifts almost immediately: the light changes, the food changes, and the Italian Val Ferret opens below with the Grandes Jorasses filling the skyline ahead. Switzerland arrives at the Grand Col Ferret, where the trail descends into the Swiss Val Ferret through pristine meadows and dairy farms before reaching the lakeside village of Champex-Lac. The final days return to France along the Grand Balcon Sud, one of the most celebrated trails in the Alps, with Mont Blanc laid out in full across the valley. The circuit completes where it started, the mountain looking exactly the same and somehow completely different.
HIGHLIGHTS
WAYS TO PERSONALIZE
Private guiding for the full circuit unlocks the route's quieter variants and deeper interpretation, particularly on the Italian and Swiss sections where the standard TMB path sees the most traffic. A cable car ascent, whether the Aiguille du Midi above Chamonix or the Skyway Monte Bianco above Courmayeur, adds an aerial perspective that the trail itself can't provide. And extending to Lake Geneva or Milan afterward provides the kind of urban contrast that a week at altitude tends to make very welcome.
