One of the biggest packing revelations we ever had: you don't need more clothes – you need the right clothes. A well-built adventure capsule wardrobe can take you from kayaking in Croatia to wine tasting in Mendoza without feeling like you're living in the same outfit for two weeks.
The Core Pieces
2–3 moisture-wicking t-shirts
2–3 long sleeves (lightweight synthetic)
1 pair of quick-dry pants + 1 convertible
1 packable mid-layer (merino wool or synthetic)
1 all-weather shell
1 versatile, wrinkle-resistant dress or button-up shirt (for dinners)
Undergarments (preferably synthetic)
Socks (merino = warm, wicking, less stink)
Check the bottom of this resource for our recommendations in each category.
Footwear
Lightweight hiking boots or shoes
Slip-ons or sandals for dinners/evenings
Optional: Flip-flops or Crocs for wearing around the lodge
How We Mix & Match
The trick? Neutral bottoms, slightly more colorful tops. Layers that look intentional, even when thrown together. Adventure travel is unpredictable -- your clothing doesn't have to be. Build once, tweak for each trip.
